Jackson turns 1!!

This boy is 1 and we can hardly believe it!  He has brought so much happiness to our lives and we feel so lucky to be his parents.  Here are a few pictures from his birthday and his party.

A happy birthday boy!  He woke up to a room filled with balloons and his birthday banner!

Handsome boy!

Dad and Jack at Chuys for his birthday!!

We had a little party with family!  We had originally scheduled his party and sent out invites, but thanks to the winter storm we had to cancel.  We pushed it back a few weeks and were able to celebrate with grandma and grandpa George.  We had a wonderful time!  Here are a few pictures:

All set for the party!  The darling sign was given to him by our friends and now hangs in his room!  It was the perfect addition to the table!
I made Jackson a large cake for the table, but while we were at church our dog thought she would have a snack.  We came home to find the cake, my glass cake stand and the pile of red suitcases all over the floor.  She knew she was busted and still had in her bed the treat Ryan had given her earlier.  She was sent to her room for the party :(

What was left of the cake.  I was so mad.

Jack and his favorite uncle Mark!

Ready for some cake!

Not so sure...

with a little help from dad...

He digs in!

We love our big Jack Ryan!

ICE in Texas!

I love a good storm!  This one came in with a bang.  When it freezes in Texas the entire state shuts down and for good reason.  Some think they can still drive the roads as if it were a bright and sunny 80 outside.  Idiots I tell ya!  We stayed in and kept cozy!  Uncle Michael was working and stayed with us to be close to the PD.

My backyard! ALL ICE!  You can't even see Pipers paw prints!

We had a white Christmas last year, but Jackson didn't do much exploring seeing he was only 11 days old!  We bundled up and ventured outside to explore and he was LOVING it!  He is such a boy:)

How cute are these tiny gloves?  Thanks Brooke!  They came in "handy"!! HEHE

Jackson's having a Party!

If this isn't the cutest thing I don't know what is! We are so excited to celebrate with family and friends for Jackson's 1st Birthday.  Everything this year has been about airplanes.  (especially with Ryan's new job at Mesa Air!) We really can't believe how fast this year has "flown by"!  With December being such a busy month we thought we would celebrate a little early.  My good friends sister was kind enough to make these invites up for us.  I just LOVE it!

We can't wait to Party!  Stay tuned for his birthday post!

Our Rough and Tough Cowboy!

Happy Halloween!!!

My absolute favorite picture this Halloween!
We decided Jackson would be a cowboy for his first Halloween!  He was the cutest cowboy I ever did see!  My mom and I made his little costume and I just love how it turned out.  The black eye from his cyst being removed sure added to the "rough and tough" factor!

He was not a huge fan of that hat on his head!

Alec has been trick or treating with us the past few years.  It would not be the same with out him.  He was one good lookin' baseball player!!  So legit!

Goodbye Cyst!

While it is never fun to send your baby off to surgery, we are glad we were able to get this procedure taken care of.  Jackson was in the hands of a wonderful doctor and that made this lots easier.  He was such a good boy.
Dad and Jack in the waiting room
We had to be to the hospital by 6am and Jack was not to have anything to eat after midnight.  I thought for sure he would be a hot mess, but he handled himself like a perfect gentleman! We waited forever.  There was something wrong with their computers and we waited for what seemed to be forever before they got us back.

Once they got us back, Jackson was checked over by a nurse, we were assigned to our room and he was changed into this beautiful hospital gown!  My happy boy had no idea what he was in for and that made me feel so bad.

Goodbye bump!

It was a little drafty:)

Surgery seemed to happen very quickly.  We waited only a little while before they came and brought us to his recovery room.  Jackson was still with the nurses coming out of anesthesia.  Dr. Burns came and talked with us and said everything went great.  He said they would bring Jackson in to see us in about 5 minutes.  45 minutes went by and I started to get a little worried.  Dr. Burns came back in and said Jack was not a happy camper when he woke up and he hit his eye which caused a hematoma.  He was put back under and they had to reopen his incision, drain the hematoma and stitch him back up again.  That was why things were taking so long.  We were so happy to see our Jack.  He was so so tired and his eye was so sad.

Back in moms arms!

We made it home, Jackson got a bath and all he wanted to do was snuggle.  He was careful with his stiches and left that eye alone.  We took it easy for a couple of days.

Fun balloons from Aunt Brooke!
The next few days he looked pretty rough but was feeling quite good!  He played with his Fisher Price Radio Grandma got him!  It's a favorite! His eye bruised up quite a bit, but I was shocked every morning I would get him out of bed at how much it improved over night.

Jackson's 9 Month Pictures

I love this handsome boy so very much!  I am in love with these pictures, especially his serious mr. handsome face:) I can't believe it has been 9 months in just a few short days.  He is crawling so fast everywhere.  I just love to watch him grow and develop.  He is the HAPPIEST baby.  We sure got lucky!

Ryan Flies the Friendly Skies!

Ryan flies the friendly skies!

It has begun!  Ryan drove west this morning.  He loaded up his truck and took off for training in Phoenix, AZ.  It will be an exciting few weeks for him as he undergoes training for a new airline.  He is now flying for Mesa Air.  We are excited about the opportunities that await him.  He will be missed while he is gone, but we will sneak in visits when we can.  We are looking forward to having our flight benefits back :)
